Local school wins LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne’s School Design Challenge!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see your school made out of LEGO®? Well a Bendigo Primary School now can after winning the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre’s inaugural LEGO® School Design competition.

A grade four class from Golden Square Primary School has won the exclusive opportunity for a customised LEGO replica of their school to be created and publicly showcased in popular Melbourne attraction, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.

The school was declared the winner of a state-wide creative drawing competition which encouraged Victorian-based primary students to draw their school, upload a photo of their artwork and share what makes their school so special in order to be eligible for entry.

The contest was judged by LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s Master Model Builder, David Holder, who will now set to work building the LEGO replica of the school in a special project that’s expected to take 60 hours.

The completed LEGO school will then be displayed in the attraction’s popular MINILAND exhibit – a large-scale LEGO brick model of Melbourne that has been created from more than 1.5million bricks. This newest addition to MINILAND will remain in the exhibit for one year and will then be gifted to Golden Square Primary School.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne encourages children to enjoy a world of creativity, colour and brick-building fun in Australia’s ultimate indoor LEGO playground. The centre runs interactive school excursion programs that are aligned to the national curriculum and inspire students’ imaginations through educational play experiences.
